Hostinger Review

Hostinger is one of the cheapest shared hosting service providers on the market today.
They started in 2007, initially as 000webhost.com, which is a free web hosting service without ads. Then, in 2011, the Hostinger web hosting brand was born.
As of May 2014, Hostinger's user base has exceeded 10 million. By January 2017, the number of users had grown to 29 million.

In just ten years, this is a considerable increase. The company has a lot of unlimited and free features. But are all these perks really unlimited and free?
We checked it for ourselves, so you don't have to pay for a real live plan with Hostinger. After that, we built our own website and started monitoring its performance for more than a year.
Do you want to know how good Hostinger is? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this web hosting provider.

Pros of Using Hostinger

If your website cannot be kept online, then unlimited or free services will be meaningless.
Our site with Hostinger has a long uptime, faster speed, strong support, etc.

1. Mostly Good Uptime 99.95%

When considering virtual hosting, uptime is the most important check.
Hostinger's performance in this area is pretty good, but the uptime will decrease every few months or so (October 2019, June and May 2019). Overall, they performed well by keeping their website up and running.

2. Fast Load Time – 350ms

Fast page load time is essential to any website user’s experience using the website.
Have you ever tried to open a webpage just to wait for the website to load for a while and get stuck?
We all have.
In addition, you may not stay for a long time. According to Neil Patel, if a website takes more than three seconds to load, 40% of people will abandon the website.
Hostinger has servers in the US, Asia and Europe (UK). According to reports, each is connected to a 1000 Mbps connection, which ensures stable loading time.
How did they perform in our tests?

3. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Hostinger offers a large number of different payment methods, such as Visa, Paypal, Mastercard, Discover, Bitcoin, Maestro, American Express and JCB.
They also offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. So if the performance or experience is not good, you can try it and refund your money.
Please note that according to Hostinger's refund policy, not all products can be refunded, and some products have special refund terms. We will save the details in the disadvantages section below.

4. Multilingual Customer Support

Customer support can create or destroy virtual hosts.
If your website is out of service for some reason and you cannot contact customer support as soon as possible, you may lose a lot of sales revenue.

Hostinger does not disappoint. The company provides a multilingual customer support team, real-time chat, and they integrate the walkie-talkie as the main support system.

However, only you can log in to your Hostinger account before you can chat in real time. (For details, see con #1.) We are happy that Hostinger offers live chat, but it would make more sense if they provide live chat to everyone. Access to live chat is very easy. After logging in, an icon will appear in the lower right corner of the page immediately.

We only need to wait less than 1 minute to establish a chat support agent, and then wait a minute to get the answer, which is really amazing. Mindaugas quickly answered our questions in multiple languages.

Hostinger's knowledge base is also very rich, with short and comprehensive articles, you can find guides, information and answers to questions by yourself. They also have tutorials (everything from website building to SEO), which includes gifs and images on how to do it.
Users can search for articles in the knowledge base or choose between three categories:
* website
* area
* general

5. Free Website Builder and Domain Name

Hostinger includes a free website builder in its service with any plan you choose (although popular website builders are better). There are also many different templates to choose from.

After choosing a template, you can customize everything on the page using the Hostinger website builder.

In addition to website builders, Premium and Business web hosting plans also offer free domain names, which will save you some money in the long run.
If you need multiple domain names, you need to pay an additional fee. talk about it later.

6. Easy to Use Interface

Hostinger provides a modern and easy-to-use interface where you can find everything you need in one place.
This way, you can track login information, update billing information, manage domains and monitor emails from the dashboard.
The control panel is not a traditional cPanel, but the large icons make it easy and accurate to find what you need and how long it takes.

Some advanced users may miss cPanel, but for beginners who are still looking for their own way-this version is great for getting a website up and running.

7. Unlimited Features With Premium and Business Plans

If you sign up for one of the first two Hostinger plans, you can access unlimited email accounts for free.
Managing these accounts directly from the control panel means there is no need to guess about spam filters, usage, etc.

You can set up automatic replies, enable or disable accounts, and forward emails sent to customer domains.
For most plans, bandwidth and database are unlimited, with the exception of the "single virtual host" plan.
With the latter, you will be limited to 10GB of disk space, 100GB of bandwidth, a MySQL database and an email account.

Cons of Using Hostinger

Hostinger's loading speed, uptime, support quality and features are amazing.
Unfortunately, there is no perfect web host. Hostinger, like other hosts, has some flaws. The trick is to figure out which defects you can tolerate and which ones are the ones to disrupt the transaction.
The following is an overview of Hostinger's imperfections:

1. Must Be Logged in to Access Live Chat

Hostinger's live chat option is only available after you log in to your Hostinger account.
This means that if you are not a Hostinger customer but have questions about migrating your website to that customer, you cannot chat with a customer service representative in real time.
To contact Hostinger without logging in, click the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of their website.

You will then go to a page where you can choose whether you want to seek support to report abuse or submit a general inquiry ticket.

To submit a ticket, you must submit your name, email and message.

2. No Traditional cPanel

Most hosting services use traditional control panels, such as cPanel.
Hostinger has created its own control panel-new users may find it easier to use than traditional control panels. However, if you are used to cPanel, you may not like its dashboard.
Therefore, advanced users may not like this part.

3. Nonstandard Payment Terms

Hostinger’s refund policy reveals some exceptions to the money-back guarantee.
Refundable amount according to standard terms:
Hosting (all plans, except the down payment after the free trial)
Domain transfer (.eu transfer is an exception. EURid charges a non-refundable transfer fee. If the transfer fails for any reason, the customer must restart and pay the transfer fee again. The .es transfer is also non-refundable.)
SSL certificate
Unrefundable money:
Redemption fee, domain name renewal and privacy protection are non-refundable. Most new domain registrations can only be refunded if they are cancelled and processed within four days of registration (not 30 days).
Before moving forward, please keep these exceptions in mind.

4. Must Pay for Extra Domains

Users who choose Premium or Business shared hosting plans and all annual Cloud hosting plans can register a domain name for free.
However, the additional domain registration is not free. However, they are absolutely affordable.
Domain names with extensions ".com" and ".net" are less than $10 per year, while ".xyz", ".online", and ".tech" domain names are only $0.99 per year.

The ".asia" extension has the highest cost-$12.99 per year.
If you choose one of its premium or business plans, you will get unlimited subdomains, but only one free domain name.
You can also update an expired domain name for free within 36 days after it expires. After that, according to Hostinger's expired registration restoration policy, the redemption grace period will allow you to redeem the domain with a redemption fee of $53 before the 66th day.

Do We Recommend Hostinger?

Yes.
Hostinger provides excellent speed. In the past 24 months, their uptime has been somewhat inconsistent, but on average, uptime has been very long.
The entry-level Single-Web Hosting plan does not provide many unlimited privileges or free features. Premium, Cloud Hosting and Business Web Hosting plans provide more features. If you are not satisfied with their service, Hostinger also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Customer support is responsive, knowledgeable and friendly.
We cannot recommend these plans.
